How many glues are there?
There are dozens   You do need to get the right glue for the job you’re doing.

Can you use any glue for all applications?
No.  Glues are manufactured for specific purposes.  It comes back to “what are you gluing?”

Which glue holds the best?
This is an easy one to answer – two part epoxy glues.

Does it matter how long the glue has to set?
Oh yes!  It is vitally important to read the instructions; otherwise your glue may fail to hold.

Is it still true that PVA glue is the best for gluing wood to wood?
Yes, it’s still the best.

If I’m not sure which glue to use, what do I do?

What are fasteners?
Anything that puts things together mechanically such as putting brackets on a wall or joining wood together.  The options are numerous, but you would use things like screws, bolts, clips, nails, tacks, sleeve bolts, nylon nail-ins to name a few that would do the job.

What do I choose to do the job I have in mind?
Firstly, you’ll need to find the right size and type of fastener.  Fasteners have many profiles and sizes.  This is where Hardware One can help the inexperienced DIYer by obtaining as much information about the job in question, and helping to select the right fastener.
